MT-A401 Elementary Theory of Probability

Course Goals
- Develop a thorough understanding of the concepts and techniques of the theory of probability.
- Develop the ability to apply your knowledge of probability to solve problems.
- Learn the theory needed to develop basic statistical theory (discussed in MT-A402).
- Further develop your ability to work effectively with others on mathematics problems.

Chapter 3: Discrete Random Variables and Their Probability Distributions
Chapter 4: Continuous Random Variables and Their Probability Distributions
Chapter 5: Multivariate Probability Distributions
Chapter 6: Functions of Random Variables
Chapter 7: Sampling Distributions and the Central Limit Theorem
