Undergraduate Catalog Description: Advanced linear algebra, including linear transformations and duality, elementary canonical forms, rational and Jordan forms, inner product spaces, unitary operators, normal operators and spectral theory. Prerequisites: Math 411 and Math 315.Objectives
- Develop a thorough understanding of the concepts and techniques of linear algebra
- Further develop the ability to apply your knowledge to solve problems
- Further develop the ability to understand an axiomatic development of mathematics and hence to understand and write proofs
- (Further) develop skills for working effectively with others on mathematics problems
