General Information, Syllabus, Assessment and Test Dates
Undergraduate Catalog Description: Systems of linear equations, matrices, linear programming, determinants, vector spaces, inner product spaces, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, linear transformations, and numerical methods. Credit not given for both Math 311 and Math 315. Spring semester. Prerequisite: A grade of "C-" or better in Math 143 and a knowledge of vectors.
Objectives
- Develop a thorough understanding of the concepts and techniques of linear algebra
- Further develop the ability to apply your knowledge to solve problems
- (Further) develop skills for working effectively with others on mathematics problems

Chapter 5: Determinants
Chapter 6: Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors (omit 6.3)
Chapter 7: Linear Transformations
Chapter 8: Applications (8.4 only)
Chapter 9: Numerical Linear Algebra (9.2, 9.3)
